school supplies
Each student is responsible for purchasing their own school supplies. Teachers collect all supplies at Meet the Teacher and use them throughout the year.
Most families opt to purchase these supplies through Eanes PTO to take advantage of the convenience of having them purchased and delivered to school. We put together school supply bundles for each student based on their grade level and have them ready for you to pick up at Meet The Teacher in August.
In addition to listed supplies, 3-5th graders are required to have a recorder and 5th graders an agenda, which can also be purchased through EEPTO.
All students will also need a backpack. For K-2nd grade, backpacks should be big enough to fit a full sized folder, library books, and maybe your child's lunchbox or jacket. 3rd -5th grades will need a traditional sized backpack to fit binders, folders etc.

Skyward and Smart tag
Skyward and Smart Tag are two programs are used regularly to communicate between parents and school. It is helpful to bookmark to your home screen and download apps to your phone. Keep track of your log-in info because these will be used regularly.
Skyward used for pushing out messages from admin/teachers, storing report cards, accessing lunch credit, scheduling conferences, registering students, and much more. You can edit your skyward preferences to indicate how you would like to be contacted by the school. | |
Smart tag is used to indicate how students will me dropped off/ picked up, and to let the office know about an absence or early pickup. At the beginning of the year, you'll create the default dismissal. Any time your child does something different (picked up for a playdate, is absent from school, after-school activity, etc.), you must update the SmartTag system. |
Attendance, Tardies, and Early Pick up
Attendance: Attendance is taken every day at 10:00am. If your student is going to be absent please update your SmartTag. You will be contacted about student absences if they are not in class and their Smart Tag has not been updates. For information on extended absences, family travel, or religious holy days, Click Here
Tardies: School starts at 7:45am. Students may be dropped off between 7:15 and 7:45. If your student is arrives after 7:45 have them come through the front office to receive a tardy slip
Early Pick up: If you need to pick up your child early please update your SmartTag with the time you will be picking up. Stop by the front office and your child will be called to meet you.
If your child is sick or has a doctor appointment please send them back with a note to get their absence excused.
DROP OFF AND PICK UP
Lots of students take the bus to and from school. Click here to see your route. Get to your bus stop a few minutes early. You can use Smart Tag to see if your bus is on time.
Car Drop off and Pick up 2023/24: For Drop Off/Pick Up details, please see Principal Ryan's Mustang Memo in your email. Students may be dropped off as early as 7:15 a.m. The car lines end at 7:35 a.m. If you arrive after that, please check in at the office for a tardy slip.
For pickup, cars tend to start lining up around 2:15 p.m. School dismisses at 2:45 p.m. Children who aren't picked up by 3 p.m. will be taken to the front office, and their parents will be called.
Smart Tag: You will set default pick up instructions for your child in their Smart Tag portal at the beginning of the year. If you need to make any changes to how they will get home (bus, pickup, leave with friend, after school activity) you must make those changes by 1:40pm on the day of the event. Please contact the front office with any questions or issues regarding transportation, Teachers are not available during the school day to handle transportation changes.
Lunch
Your child will have a 30-minute lunch between 10:30 a.m - 1:30 p.m. Different grades take their lunches at different times, your class teacher will communicate that time to you. Kids may bring a lunch from home or purchase food from the cafeteria. Every Friday is treat day, and kids may purchase a treat like ice cream or animal crackers. Students charge their lunches to their Student ID number, which can be paid and replenished in skyward. Parents are invited to join their children at lunch any day. Please check in at the front office and head back to meet your child at the cafeteria!

Enrichment courses
EISD offers great enrichment courses for students, which are held at EE after school. To explore course offerings, Click Here. Some of the courses fill up fast, so make note of when courses open up!
In addition, many students participate in community sports and clubs. If you are new to our school reach out to your room parent for recommendations!
Eanes PTO works as a liaison between school admin, teachers, and parents. We volunteer, plan school wide events, fundraise to support classroom needs and teacher appreciation, but most importantly, help develop and strengthen our Mustang Community!
What is the difference between EEPTO and EEF? We get this question a lot! We are two different organizations that both help bridge the gap to make Eanes excellent. (And we have very similar acronyms)
EEF, or Eanes Educational Foundation is a district wide foundation that helps to fund teachers. The largest portion of EEF’s grant each year funds teacher and staff positions. Generous donations from families throughout out district have funded over 474 teacher positions since 2004, including 53 positions that are currently funded by EEF for the 2020-2021 school year.
EEPTO, or Eanes Elementary Parent Teacher Organization, (this is us) is a school level organization just at Eanes Elementary. Organizations like ours can also referred to as booster clubs or PTAs. While EEF helps fund teachers, we help teachers fund their lessons. We use donations to provide teachers with funds for classroom set up, supplies, instructional materials, and professional development. In addition, we use donated dollars to provide teacher appreciation, campus improvements, and community events.
Both our organizations help make Eanes ISD excellent, and we do it through the generous donations of families like you.
